Townsville is the northern part of Queensland's capital, and it's not hard to see why! The ever growing city which is now home to around 165,000 people has one of the highest residential growths in the state. It is surrounded by some fabulous attractions.

The Great Barrier Reef being the main attraction people love to see everyday, and also the wonderous rainforests. It is also a gateway to the ruggered outback in the West, which is home to two mining stations as well as a vast array of cattle stations. Many different forms of accommodation are available and there is bound to be something that will suit any amount of people wishing to travel to the area.

Townsville also has some fun night life and really good shopping, which would make for the perfect weekend.
