Museum of Tropical Queensland

An entirely different kind of museum is the Museum of Tropical Queensland, which feature ancient marine artifacts, including fossils and extinct wildlife.

One of the many exhibits, and perhaps considered as the most preeminent, is the exhibit of the relics from the HMS Pandora, which rests to the East of Cape York, at the periphery of the Great Barrier Reef. The museum also features an interactive science center, a display of tropical Queensland’s natural marine and terrestrial history and an exhibit of Australia’s aboriginal heritage. The museum is an entirely different experience that going to one of Australia’s great aquariums, but it makes for a very interesting afternoon out, nonetheless.
